Free Planet Radio is a dynamic and genre-defying Asheville based duo that blends elements of jazz, world music and improvisation into a gorgeous and exciting musical experience. Since 2001, they’ve brought their unique sound to concert halls, classrooms, and international stages.
Their performances fuse Middle Eastern, Indian, and North African rhythms with Western harmonic depth and jazz improvisation, always engaging and accessible. The group has collaborated with artists like Lizz Wright, Robert Bly, and Omar Faruk Tekbilek, and toured internationally, including a 20-city tour of China.
Founding members River Guerguerian (global percussion) and Chris Rosser (oud, dotar, guitar, and keys) continue to perform as a duo or with special guests, honoring the legacy of bassist and co-founder Eliot Wadopian.
