Today: International Fest & International Art Festival!

Downtown Waynesville will be alive today with the sights, the colors, the music & sound, the dancing and the art of Folkmoot International Fest & International Art Festival!

Beginning at 10 a.m. and running through 5 p.m. on Main Street in Waynesville, the International Fest is held in conjunction with the Haywood County Arts Council and will feature an juried art show as well as free performances from all the dancing troupes visiting Folkmoot 2015.

Folkmoot began Thursday and will continue through July 26 at a variety of locations and venues around Western Carolina! (Scroll down further for phot0s & videos from our first two days, including Friday’s Parade of Nations and our Grand Opening Friday night.)

Our performance Saturday night – July 18 – at Haywood Community College will include all the visiting troupes as will the Sunday, July 19th, matinee performance at the Diana Wortham Theatre in Asheville.

Sunday, July 19th, we split up the troupes with dancers from Chile, Philippines & Estonia traveling to the SALT Block Auditorium in Hickory  while dancers from Puerto Rico, Canada, Ecuador & Philippines perform at Lake Junaluska’s Stuart Auditorium for World Friendship Day.
