World of Fortune Trivia Night!

Test your knowledge of the globe, compete against others at World of Fortune Trivia Night!

That’s right, bring your smart friends, form a team and, maybe, win as much as $5,000 at Folkmoot’s World of Fortune Trivia Night – Thursday, June 14 at BearWaters Brewery in Canton!

The fun – and potentially enriching – night starts a 6 p.m.

World of Fortune Trivia Night!Do you know the capitol of Croatia? Name the mountain chain which stretches from the Arctic Ocean to Kazakhstan. Spell Kuala Lumpur…wait, we just gave you that one!!

Teams of 4-6 people will compete brain to brain for an epic battle to win in the contest’s $500 top prize and intellectual glory in the realm of world culture. Register for the contest & prize money here. Trivia contestants will find a $20 entry fee for each team member. 

The $5,000 prize will go the winner of a very special drawing at the end of the evening. Between now and the event on June 14, Folkmoot representatives are selling 200 tickets for $100 each to enter the drawing for $5,000. Folkmoot experts have planned four rounds of twenty questions on topics like world history, global politics, current affairs, international movies, languages, arts & culture, geography, food, wine, beer and war & peace

Folkmoot’s year-round programming initiatives have been made possible by Haywood Regional Medical Center, the Community Foundation of Western North Carolina and Western Carolina University.

Folkmoot is a nonprofit organization dedicated to celebrating many cultures in one community. The Folkmoot Friendship Center is located in the Historic Hazelwood School at 112 Virginia Avenue in Waynesville.

And, by the way, Folkmoot 2018 opens July 19 and runs through July 29.

This summer’s festival will include dance troupes from Ghana, Italy, Czech Republic, Venezuela, Mexico, Northern Cyprus and Thailand as well as Anglo Appalachian and Cherokee dancers and musicians.
