The performing dance troupes of Folkmoot 2015 will come from as far away as Bangladesh, Estonia and Indonesia and as nearby as Quebec, Puerto Rico and our own neighbors and friends, the Cherokee.
Neighbors and members of our family of nations from Chile, Ecuador and the Philippines will also be dancing and dazzling crowds throughout the festival.
Once again, from July 16 to July 26, the sites and sounds, pageantry, beauty and grace of Folkmoot will captivate the Smoky Mountains and all of Western North Carolina from over a dozen venues throughout the region.
The full schedule and links to online tickets sales can be found here. You will want to catch as many performances and festivities as you can for this 2015 edition of a Western Carolina tradition – North Carolina’s official international folk festival.
We’ll list our dance troupes here by alphabetical order, according to their nation, territory or province. We’ll leave it to you to pick your favorites.
