Every Folkmoot Festival is filled with human stories and one of the many from the 2015 Summer Festival recently unfolded as a Folkmoot musician became father of twins!
Ron Pon, percussionist in the 2015 troupe from Ecuador, was consistently in touch with his wife back in Ecuador during the festival in July, getting updates and making sure everything was going well. The happy father is at the far left in the photo above.
We’re happy to report the couple now has healthy, happy twins, born in mid-October!
Ron is a veteran with the Grupo de Danzas Tradicionales Ecuatorianas Universidad Técnica DEL Norte and as the percussionist has a heavy responsibility to keep the beat, the time, for the dancers and fellow musicians. He has traveled the world playing music and has a passion for life that makes others want to join in the fun.
Not only was his strong passion for music moving but his positivity and his excitement to meet new people was inspiring. He talked constantly back in July of his excitement at becoming a father.
Being a father means so much to Ron because of his story with his own father. That story will come soon!
From the rest of the Folkmoot Family,”Congratulations Ron Pon!”
