Blue Ridge Big Band to Perform at Folkmoot

For a toe-tapping good time, join Folkmoot and the Blue Ridge Big Band on Sunday, December 10 at 3PM, for a holiday celebration featuring 17-piece Big Band performing jazzy Christmas tunes. Held in the Queen Auditorium at the Folkmoot Center, attendees are encouraged to bring the whole family for holiday music.

The Blue Ridge Big Band is comprised of 17 musicians who share a love of big band music and performing. Musicians hail from Haywood, Jackson, Buncombe, Macon and Henderson counties and range in age from the young to the young-at-heart. Chris Ulery, band director at Canton Middle School, is the musical director. The Big Band’s mission is to entertain audiences with a wide variety of musical styles from traditional big band music and contemporary jazz to popular music of the last few decades.

Tickets for this event are $5 and can be purchased at the door, or by calling 828-452-2997. Parking is free and available in the back of the Folkmoot Friendship Center.
